Research Papers in the Digital Age

Remember those laborious research papers with notecards (one note per card!), source cards (make sure the codes match!), formal outlines, weeks and weeks of process to compile and create?  Are they important to the learners of today?  Do they need to do the grunt work of the pre-digital generations?  Check out these sources:
