My current read (you know, a little fun summer reading!) is Pathways to the Common Core by Lucy Calkins.
I’m pretty sure my entire philosophy on education, and life in general, can be summed up by the following quote toward the very beginning of the book:
“You need to understand something, boy. The world you see outside of you is a reflection of what you have inside of you. If you are one of those people who only sees problems and darkness and despair, then that is all there is ever going to be for you. But if you are one of those people who sees hope, opportunity, and love, then you can make a difference.” (Calkins, 2012)
If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you certainly know on which side of that token I tend to fall.
